Tags and auto-tagging
Every email gets a tag from what it says. Edit them, add your own, build frames and rules on top.
Each incoming email gets a coloured tag — Needs action, Meeting, Promotion, and so on — based on what it actually says, not only who sent it. Senders you have taught carry their tag forward.
Editing tags
Settings → Tags is where tags live: rename, recolour, add your own, switch one off. Changing an email’s tag teaches Hedwig about that sender, so the same kind of mail lands right next time.
Tags as frames
A frame per tag turns your inbox into a kanban. Drop an email onto a tag-filtered frame and it takes that tag — the drag-to-file gesture is the heart of triage here.
Tags in rules
Rules can assign tags on arrival and can react to them: “whenever an email from Sarah is about the lease, tag it Lease”. See Rules.
